About BBOP

Becky Becker and her Box of Puppets have been entertaining audiences across the South since 1980.  A favorite of festivals, corporate events, conferences, school residencies, teacher workshops, and summer reading programs, thousands of young people - and young at heart people - are exposed to the magic of puppetry arts every year through Becky's talent.

Helping children discover the joy of reading and weaving magical tales that come to life before your eyes is a trademark of Becky and her puppets.

Becky is a member of Puppeteers of America, South Carolina Arts Commission/Approved Artist,  Engaging Creative Minds/Approved Artist and the South Carolina Storytelling Network.

"We have experienced many artists in residencies.  In my opinion, Becky Becker is one of the finest. She believes in children and strives to offer them exemplary opportunities to learn and grow. It is always exciting to know she is on campus."

The most lovable bunch of teddy bears romp and play in this delightful show! The charming bears dance, play music, juggle and even get into a spot of mischief. Teddy Time is a real celebration of the love that we have for these extra special friends.

A perennial favorite!   This fantastically exciting show is a real feat performed by one person. With puppets up to 4 feet tall and almost 30 characters involved, this show is a special holiday treat. The soundtrack was recorded by Bert Elliott Sound in Atlanta, Georgia.  Bert's other clients include Delta Airlines, BellSouth, and the Georgia Governor's Council.

Beloved nursery rhyme characters Humpty Dumpty, Hey Diddle Diddle, Peter Pumpkin Eater, and many other childhood favorites come to life in this charming show.

A glorious tale with exquisitely costumed puppets. A true dramatic event: it's thrilling, romantic, and lots of fun - complete with special opportunities for audience participation.

A host of colorful animals bring this popular African folktale to life. When one foolish action causes a chain reaction that endanger all the animals, the Lion King must put all to right. Authentic music and much audience participation make this popular story a memorable theatrical event.

Revisiting her favorite holiday memories growing up in Michigan, the "mitten state," Miss Becky presents an endearing show filled with frosty delights.  Climb aboard the flying snowman, take a spin around the ice rink and fall in love with the dancing gingerbread people. Favorites from the Nutcracker ballet are part of this charming show.
