Residencies
As a teaching artist, Becky works closely with teachers in creating a week of puppet fun including story-telling, movement, music, staging, props, and a variety of handmade puppets. The lessons are standards based, and in “Ms. Becky’s” class, everyone is a star! Everyday, each student participates as both a puppeteer and an audience member. Past themes have included fairy and folktalkes, plant life, seasons, weather, circus arts, nursery rhymes, farm life, and animal habitats. She specializes in working with Pre-K and the early elementary grades. She finds it to be a privilege to be invited into schools as an artist in residence and an honor to be on the Artist Rosters for the South Carolina Arts Commission and Engaging Creative Minds.
